Our Youth in Action for Mental Health program will be expanding to many more high schools this year
Thanks to $20,000 in new funding from the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund, our Youth in Action for Mental Health program will be expanding to schools across the province this year.
Centered around a peer-based project development model, Youth in Action for Mental Health involves the creation of youth leadership groups in participating schools. With guidance from our Project Coordinators, these leadership groups design and implement awareness campaigns on topics related to youth mental health.
“Bell Let’s Talk is proud to present Partners for Youth with a $20,000 grant to support its youth leadership program,” said Mary Deacon, Chair of Bell Let’s Talk. “This year, the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund is providing grants to 72 organizations helping people living with a mental illness. Since 2011, the Fund has invested over $6.5 million in almost 350 community mental health programs and services that improved access to mental health supports and services for Canadians in every region of the country.”
The Bell Let’s Talk initiative promotes Canadian mental health with national awareness and anti-stigma campaigns like Bell Let’s Talk Day and significant Bell funding of community care and access, research, and workplace initiatives. To learn more, please visit Bell.ca/LetsTalk.
